On Sunday, December 6th, 2020, the Dimmitt Automotive Group started the holiday season by giving. This is the 15th consecutive year that Dimmitt has participated in Toys for Tots.
Toys for Tots, run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, distributes toys to the children of families who cannot afford to buy gifts for the holiday season. This admirable program makes a difference in many people’s lives, and directly impacts our community.
All vehicles that participated in the rally donated new, unwrapped toys to the cause. In addition, every Dimmitt location offered a drop off box for toy donations. And, Dimmitt donated 96 new bikes to the cause, representing their 96th year of serving the Tampa Bay community.
This year, over 80 vehicles joined the rally. With each vehicle came new, unwrapped gifts for children. All makes and models were welcome to join the rally, so a large variety of cars participated. Some vehicles that joined included various supercars, a classic Jaguar, Corvettes, a Rolls-Royce, a Bentley, some pickup trucks, and a Tesla! The vehicles formed two lanes and wrapped around the McLaren Tampa Bay building.
Led by the Sheriff’s Department of Hillsborough County, the drivers set out on their trip. The Rally started at the Dimmitt McLaren Showroom in St. Petersburg and traveled to the Marine Corps Toy Warehouse in Tampa. There, they unloaded the many toys donated.
Thank you to the deputies of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department for giving your time to support this meaningful cause and for escorting our drivers through Tampa Bay safely. Thank you to the generous drivers and many others who donated toys. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the rally a complete success. We truly appreciate your donations! Thank you for making a difference in our community.
